The second project was about technical skills such as creating 3D paper models of a cube, prism and cylinder. They had to look perfect with the correct measurements. I found it quite difficult to stick them together properly as the glue was very messy to assemble. 
We also had to practise our skills using a craft knife. Using a craft knife to cut a perfect circle in an A4 sheet of paper, using the rist to control the movement of the knife. Next it was to mount post cards on a sheet of A2 paper correctly spaced out, also to experiment with window mounting.

The next task was to create a hemp leaf binded book with squares cut out of each page, a saddle stiched book and a bound book. Personally I hated making these books, I struggled to get the correct measurements and to make the books neat and functional. I did however mange to get my head round the hemp leaf binded book. This stich was pretty easy once you understand it.

We had to create a pop up book to represent a well known saying. Mine is 'the wrong end of the stick'.

The last task was to recreate these 3 peices. The first was a pencil study, the second was a dip pen study and the third was a scraper board.
The pencil study I found pretty easy as it is something I do alot but it could have been better if I used a different pencil to add more tone to the study. I had never used a dip pen before but I surprisingly really enjoyed it. It was differnt and I loved the final look that it created. I think I got a pretty good likeness but to improve it I need to add more neater lines into the background to fill in the gaps and neaten it up. Finally the scratch board study, I used scratch boards in school but not to the extent of detail as included in this peice, I did like it however it took a lot of time, not being able to rub out lines meant I had to be careful about the placement of every line.
