Design a stylised logo for your given band. Choose the genre and do research to plan out your logo.

My initial thoughts for Melon Spoon was that's it would be either an indie or county style band. From there I thought about my colour palete and different themes I could use for my logo.

These are the record covers I found in HMV which I took inspiration from to help me with designing my logo.

First I looked at fonts because I knew I wanted quite a bubbly bold text, this gave me a direction to start my research.

I took my research in another direction looking further at anything that inspired me.

Then I moved onto drawing lots of different ideas so I had a variety to develop further.

Next I went down the psychedelic root, and looked at the art on Pinterest. I was inspired by the bright colours which I could incorporate in my designs. 

I looked at more typography that fit in with the psychedelic theme.

I waned to explore the psychedelic theme with a variety of new sketches, the chosen colour palete came from a traditional watermelon but I want to experiment with more colours. 

From drawing some quick mockups I developed them further and played around with different colours and styles. 

After some feedback I went back and refined a few details in my final logo, also tried a few different variations of it.
